Partners Poland Foundation is a Polish ngo since 1995 committed to building sustainable local capacity to advance civil society and a culture of change and conflict management.
Partners Poland Foundation activities include:
Training local activists to foster their development as emerging leaders of emerging communities. Participants of our training programs initiated many actions addressed to their local communities: the opening of new Internet cafes, orchestrating lobbying campaigns for the increased involvement of women in politics and gender equality, introducing new educational initiatives for the local youth
Preparing young politicians for professional participation in democratic political life by providing them with ground rules of political campaigning, public speaking and contacts with media. Many of them went to become elected officials and deputies for their local communities;
Providing guidance for local governments in their development of effective communication channels with local citizens. We have facilitated the introduction of new disposal systems and devised new and viable strategies for communicating with local communities endangered by the risk of flood;
Organizing study visits for our partners from other emerging democracies in Southern and Eastern Europe. We hosted local councilors from Albania, Azerbaijan, Bosnia, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Ukraine, trainers from all those countries as well as Georgia and Serbia, mediators from Lithuania and young women activists from Kosovo;
Providing public administration with skills for building new democratic relationships within institutions and in contacts with their clients. Since 1995 we have trained over 1700 officials;
Mediating — local, business and family conflicts in our Partners Mediation Center based in Warsaw. Every year our panel of mediators meets over 150 couples seeking help to enable them to reach solution to their disputes.
The Foundation is associated with the international non-governmental organisation, “Partners for Democratic Change” which has offices in the USA and national Centers in Argentina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Jordan, Lithuania, Romania, and Slovakia. The Partners Poland Foundation is the member of the “Grupa Zagranica” — the Polish Platform of NGOs working abroad.
